MORE ELECTRIC TRANSPORTATIONS: THE KEY FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH

 

Prof. Nikolaos (Nick) Papanikolaou, received the Diploma and the PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Patras. He joined the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of DUTH in 2013, where he is engaged with teaching and research in the field of Power Electronics.

He is the author and co-author of more than 100 scientific and technical papers in his field, cited by more than 2,400 times in the international bibliography. He is included in 2% top research scientists, Stanford University list, in the Electrical & Electronic Engineering field. He also holds several patents for active anti-islanding detection in impedance source inverters, active loss of neutral detection in electrical installations, an innovative driving scheme for Switched Reluctance Machines etc. He has 25 years of experience in the Electrical Energy Industry and Market, as well as in consultation services for the Greek Industry. In addition, he has been involved with several research programs funded by the EU as well as by National Research Frameworks. Dr. Papanikolaou is a Senior Memder, IEEE and Member of the IEEE-EPPC WG on Energy, a Member of CIGRE and a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece..
